Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 19, 2020
Published: Feb. 19, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Maatta makes sense because he has 2 more years on his contract following this year and plays a similar role to Kulikov and is younger. Sikura is a player many scouts thinks will still be a solid 3rd line player in the NHL but has seemed to run out of chances with the Hawks.
Fairly small price to tag for what would be 2 upgrades to the current lineup.

Sikura is tearing up the AHL right now. He’s not untouchable, but he is definitely not a throw in.

He is 24, turning 25 this summer, and has had many chances with the Hawks. If they can move him for a decent pick they will.

Agreed, but now is the time to maximize his value in a trade. Yes, he's playing really well. He's also 24 and still in the AHL. He can be a nice piece for another team, but I don't see him getting many more chances in CHI.

If he can't make it to the Hawks, he isnt making it to the Jets.....He sure isn't better than Appleton or Roslovic

That's funny, because both of those players are in the lineup. I also never said he was better than them.
But I would almost guarantee he's better than Haskins, Shore, Borque, and Shaw.

Not Harkins but Shore brings a different game which every team needs, a depth C who can kill penalties. Sikura isnt that.

Sikura is just like those other player that I mentioned but not as good...WPG can't play them all....so its a waste of a trade

So what you're saying is you wouldn't pay a 2nd and 4th in 2 and 3 drafts from now, to add depth, upgrade your 12th forward and 4/5th D-man both of which are under team control for at least 2 more seasons beyond this one? Is that right?

No...a 2nd is worth more than Sikura and maata is not what we need.

Okay fair i guess.
But you're also the same person that proposed a 2nd and Appleton for Dylan Strome. I think you may be over valuing a 2nd round draft pick.
