Danault isn't getting trade unless a massive overpay... For Petry, you must add or replace Fleury with Suzuki.

I can't tell if the responses above are people who didn't read the description saying it's only 1 of those guys or if it's just Habs fans being Habs fans and overvaluing their players again.

That gets you Petry with money retained. Would prefer to have Torontos pick though just so we can use it to pick a player in MTL after they miss the playoffs

What makes you say that? With Suzuki, Poehling and Kotka, you have your future top 9 C's for a while, what's the need for Danault? You're not getting Suzuki for Petry.... be real

danault is a very valuable part of the team. hes a core player. he's a top 5 selke caliber player who makes less then 5 mill. no way you're getting him unless u overpay. hayden fluery isn't the most attractive prospect. ur gonna have to add someone like bean or suzuki, thus that being an overpayment.

We just received a 2nd and maybe a 4th for Scandella, apparently we aren't the only ones overvaluing our players right now...

Then, theres no need to trade Petry... MB wont trade him just for the sake of trading him... Get real, look what some teams paid for bottom 9 forwards and bottom pir d so far. Youre not getting Petry unless you give an A prospect and a first

1. The market value of a player isn't set by their own teams need of that player, but the demand from other teams.
2. Montreal is unlikely going to play 3-4 rookie/sophomore centers next year.
3. Danault is one of the better defensive centers in the league and produces well. There is a need in Montreal for Danault, but they might be willing to move him for a huge overpay.

On the MTL trading block is everyone except the young guys (and Weber and Price because trading those contracts is most likely not worth it)
Also almost exempt are Gallagher and Danault, concensus is they're a part of the core for the future - so unless for an overpayment, I don't see Danault moving
(Also Poehling's position with the team is still an unknown, so maybe if he can prove his worth at centre, than moving Danault becomes an option for the future)

Danault, per hockey reference, has never finished higher than 18th in Selke voting. He's a great player, but you're not getting an overpay for what will effectively be a spare part....

he was 7th in 18-19 at age 25. i was wrong about 5th. either way, he prob ends up in the top 8 again this year.

I think you somehow created a trade that is simultaneously an overpayment and underpayment on Carolina's behalf I believe some ways to rectify this would be:
1. If you remove the third the trade is good for Petry
2. If you remove the second and third the trade is good for Danault
3. If you replace the first (and potentially second [depends on who offers the trade {if Montreal offers there is no second if Carolina offers the second is included}]) with Ryan Suzuki I think you might be able to pry both away from Montreal
4. if you add Jake Bean or Alex Romanov the respective team Hangs up the phone

right now he might be, he's older now. but in his prime he was a core piece. danault is 25. im assuming you haven't seen him play, shutting down the likes of crosby , malkin, matthews, tavares, kopitar, barzal, bergeron line? yeah sure, according to you that should be a 'spare part" LMAOOOO.
