Honestly not bad. Id be ok with any of these trades. I just wouldn't want to do all of them - that would leave COL with very few picks in the 2021 draft

I figured because 2020 is a stronger draft that 2021/2022 picks would be better.

Is there such thing as too many draft picks??? lol

I like all these trades! That's exactly the type of trade I want for Pageau. Hopefully, you can get a couple of teams biding on Namestikov and increasing his price.

The first one might be happening... Anderson is not on the ice for practice....

Considering our injuries I wouldn't mind any and or all of these trades. The conditions have thought about Colorado's side a lot.

I mean after the last 2 drafts and us keeping our 2020 1st rounder, we could handle being light in picks in a draft or two ahead. Especially since we'll be more in the middle of this cup window.

Joe mostly does his improvements in the off-season, Colorado is now definitely a desirable place to play (couldn't say that three years ago) and we have a lot of our depth locked up for those years so considering all that we won't need too many draft picks for deadline trades and will be able to sign / re-sign UFAs/RFAs in those years.

It wouldn't be a Columbus style "f*ck all of our picks let's go to the 2nd round!" It will be more calculated far in advance.

All solid, though I don’t think the Avs would be interested Namestikov, but I think there is very fair value each way. I could see the Sens asking for more with Pageau (a low-mid tier prospect) and the Avs giving it.

I was considering Connor Timmins but I hear he's one prospect they'd not really want to part with.

You'd be correct. Even though we're set for the next 10 years with Makar, having Timmins to step in and be the top offensive D when Makar is hurt and then playing a top 4 role mostly is the plan I think.

You would be correct, but if they asked for Henry or Beaucage I don’t think that’s a deal breaker.

I suspect with Timmins having been set back with the concussion injury and Makar stepping in the way he has, the intention will be for him to eventually be the third RHD and later replace EJ.

Anderson = no interest, plus bad blood with the organisation I believe. Namestnikov, again I don't see any interest. Not saying the value is off though. Not sure about the condition on the Jost/Pageau trade either. I like Pageau but Jost plus a first seems a little rich for my blood.

Bad blood how? He got traded 1 for 1 for Elliot about 10+ years ago under a different management group in both Ottawa and Colorado. I don't think he burned all his bridges.

I think with Namestnikov's speed, he'd be a great temporary replacement for Rantanen on MacKinnon's wing. Value won't be much more than a 3rd.

The Pageau trade, if no conditions are met, is basically Jost, a 2nd and a 4th. That's not much for a 2nd/3rd line D centre all things considered. If Sakic doesn't want to subtract from his lineup, I'm sure a prospect would replace Jost. Maybe a Kaut?

There was reputedly bad blood in that he felt he wasn't respected in Colorado. How much that holds over with ppl is down to the individuals of course. Sakic was the Skipper then and GM now so who knows? Namestnikov, like I said is 'meh', I don't see the interest, and like I said the value is fine, just I think there are far better options out there. Pageau it's a question of if the conditions ARE met not if they aren't. Jost and a first for a borderline #2C? Kaut definitely wouldn't be replacing Jost, that would make it even worse!!!

This was unbeknownst to me. I'm sure Anderson won't be mind being traded to a contender.

That being said you don't want your team to go deep in the playoffs this year? Some fan you are :P

Also, chill. Kaut might be an impact player but not right away. Not with Mack, Kadri, Jost and Compher in front of him. Not to mention you have Newhook and Dickinson down the middle, too.

I realise it was a joke but I actually don't think the Avs are ready yet (I'll be ecstatic to be proved wrong) and nor do I think these moves would help them do so (go any deeper). Or at least no more than the current roster. As for chill, I can assure you I am smile Kaut is likely to be better than Jost imho, so I I certainly wouldn't want to make a trade I already consider 'off' even worse now would I? That is the point I'm making!

Hahah! Fair enough my man. I'm cheering for Colorado this year in the west. Their team is just too good to hate (even with Kadri).

The good Dickinson is on Dallas. We have the lesser Dickinson who may not even be a career AHLer. Although Bruce Dickinson is played in the Pepsi Centre sometimes.

I also think at this point that all the bad blood back then doesn't matter now. I think Erik Johnson shared like 4 games with Andy and there is no one else on the current roster. Liles does commentary so that's about it. Also, fans loved Andy, I know I did. BUT Sakic has said:

1. He's really only looking for goaltending and more so depth tenders than anything. I'd love to Andy come back for a post-season run but likely not what Sakic has in mind.

2. He really doesn't want to trade his 1st in 2020 because everyone who is injured is going to return by the post-season.

3. He IS willing to listen to other offers and not take anything off the table but I mean what GM doesn't say that.

I believe that a 1st round pick this year (2020) is basically the equivalent to gold which is why I didn't include one in any of these deals. Unless you're acquiring a prime talent with term left, there is no reason to move it.

You didn't get the value quite right but you got the Namestnikov trade. I'm not bummed about it for what they gave up mind you. A 4th in 2021 is much more palatable.

it is what it is. I'm just happy we got something for him. I feel like Pierre could've got a 3rd. From the trade standpoint, it's kind of weird considering we gave up our own 4th to land him (and a contract). So we're technically worse than when we got him?.. Whatever, a pick is a pick. We needed to ice an NHL team this year so it's okay.
