@DiehardRedWingsFan58 what do you think of this AA trade? Bellows numbers where not good last year in the AHL 19 points in 73 games but he could still be a solid nhl player down the road. Not sure if I would pull the trigger on this deal or not.

The Bridgeport sountigers coaching staff told him at the beginning of last season not to worry about points, to focus on his play away from the puck. This season, his second in the AHL, he had 19 points in 25 games and he earned a call up. He likely projects as a middle 6 winger that can put up 15-20 goals and help on the powerplay. The only thing about his game that is elite is his shot.

I don't think I'd pull the trigger on this. If it were a 1st + Bellows, yes. but not a 2nd.

Maybe a 2nd + Bellows + Wilde

Personally don't like the deal, Bellows numbers have been pretty under-whelming here. Maybe if Bode Wilde was added to the deal i'd think about it hard and long.

Wilde has a lot of value, I’d do Wilde and a 3rd. Athanasiou isn’t worth an A and B prospect + a 2nd.

Agreed! I felt like Bellows and a 2nd was a little light. Wilde would be a good addition to the trade.

The Blake Coleman trade, Begs to differ. AA is easily worth a 2nd and B level prospect at the very worse.

Athanasiou also has a lot of value. If he didn't. You wouldn't want him.

Blake Coleman and athanasiou aren’t on the same level.
Blake Coleman - elite pker and very good defensively 5 v 5, has a very high xGA. His 16 5 v 5 goals ranks 18th in the NHL.

Athanasiou is a good player, but besides last season he hasn’t really put up great numbers. He’s a solid complimentary piece. Bellows is a B prospect, that’s why I proposed a 2nd and bellows. Maybe DET can pull a 1st if they give back a 3rd or 4th rd pick in the deal. Namestnikov and Derek grant don’t have a ton of value, I still want them.

Hate to break it to you. But AA's numbers are better than Colemans.

Coleman averages 0.39 ppg over his career
AA averages 0.52 ppg over his career

Saying Coleman is elite while AA is complimentary is laughable. They're both complimentary pieces. Coleman isn't going to be playing to Tampa's top line FYI.

Or hold on to him for another season.

Never said Coleman overall Coleman is elite, but he is a top 5 pker in the NHL, hence “elite pker”. He brings a lot more value to a team right now than athanasiou, that’s not an opinion. Go on naturalstattrick or any other site evaluating players and you’ll see.

Being ranked 18th in the NHL for 5 v 5 goals while playing for one of the worst teams in the league is impressive
