For the Pens to hit a home run, all they would really need to do is make one deal with Chicago and they'd probably be viewed as a top 3-4 contender, if they weren't there already.

I think the Preds pass. Their PP could probably use a guy like Schultz, but if they trade for a D I think they need one that can play the PK. Both are bad, but the PK is much worse. Ellis should be coming back soon to be the PP QB on the second unit behind Josi. I think they need Granlund more than Schultz anyway - Granlund is playing great under Hynes. Then come summertime, they at least may resign Granlund - there is no way they resign Schultz.

Makes our RHD side kind of thing after this. Try getting a winger and a RHD that's cheaper but still good if you're looking to move Schultz.

If this was Granlund last year? Maybe. This year the value is lopsided. Simon is a cheap and effective player. Granlund is not as good as he was in Minnesota.
