I just saw Goodrow on the TSN Trade Bait Board

Created by: yikes

Description
I KNOW it’s just haha let’s create drama this guy could move blah blah but if he is moved I will be extremely upset; Dillons return was satisfactory but not in love with. But Goodrow return must be more the satisfying. It has to be a great return. Just putting my opinion on what he should return (very similar to Coleman).

For context I would guess sampo is a b prospect where Foote was seen as a possible A, frost a A so alone, same with Robertson. Harley a B+/near A so not a first, Wilde B+ but sent a pick back, it’s not perfect and quickly made so mainly discussion as I wouldn’t want him to be gone for like jesse p and a first but I suggested it anyways

Goodrow is a dime a dozen player. You would be lucky to get a 2nd.

It’s literally based off Coleman trades as no prospect I considered on footes level I put a first with. If I’m mistaken on some prospect I’ll gladly discuss

Id rather Goodrow then Coleman (and he got a good return) but opinions are to subjective

Agreed. If anyone who watched the sharks (which can’t blame someone if they don’t were abysmal some nights); he’s always one of our best players. Literally deserves top 3/6 minuets all year and that’s compared to guys like Kane and Meier etc

Exactly. Hes 26, on like a 900 thousand contract and has another year. Any contender would love to have him

Coleman scores more and is better defensively so uh yeah I can see your perspective.

Goodrow is a huge part of the best PK in the league. You clearly dont know Goodrow at all so dont pretend you do

lol nah. PK is primarily systems dependent and you don't spend a 1st for a dime a dozen PK specialist.

See the difference between Goodrow and Coleman is that Coleman has now had back to back 20 goal seasons. While Goodrow hasn’t even mustered a 10 goal season yet and their defensive abilities cancel each other out. Goodrow will likely fetch a steep return but it certainly won’t be a 1st.

Then we wont move him? If we arent getting a first or a first level prospect back, then the sharks wont move him. Hes still under contract and the sharks plan to return to form next year

I like Goodrow but he wouldnt be a sole target, would be part of a bigger deal bw the teams.

Goodrow: 8 goals, 24 points (which is a career high)
Coleman: 21 goals, 31 points (neither of which are career highs)

Goodrow: On pace to score 11 goals
Coleman: On pace to score 30 goals

The only stat Goodrow has more of than Coleman is PIM's. He's not worth ANYTHING close to what these packages are.

Coleman is significantly better than Goodrow. Their ice time at 5v5 is almost identical this season and coleman has twice as many goals and shots in that time. Not to mention he is a better shot and scoring chance suppressor on the penalty kill. Goodrow might net you a 2nd from a desperate team but he isn't close to Coleman. Come on

I think packaging Goodrow with Melker and retaining half on Melker can net them a solid return. Trading one of the best PK duos in the league can get them some decent assets from a team like Florida or Toronto who've been completely shambolic on the PK. That's the only angle I think they can create a decent trade window for those guys.
