sounds like sakic just Rained on all the rental Kreider trades with his media scrum today.

not interest in the rental market, would like to keep their first, no interest in moving top prospect, injures right now dont change their plans
they are looking for hockey deals not rentals

could be a smoke screen but hes been pretty straight shooter when he does speak to the media. Are looking for a third goalie, he did say that. So the Rangers trading for one tonight makes it interesting

Why does San Jose trade the most valuable piece and take the cap dump back?

Not bad value but if we’re taking smith add more. Labanc alone is worth slightly more to us then Georgiev and andersson so if we take Miller we would want something else.

I think every GM is going to say something similar to what he said; they want to keep everything close to their chest. They all want hockey trades if they are able to, but that's not always the case. I would not weigh his words too heavily.

Trading for Berube was likely because they were thin at goalie after NYR called up Shesterkin. I do not think it had anything to do with any of the goalies on the Rangers' current roster.

It just aligns with what avs beat writers were hearing last week or so. Seems like that’s their direction and Sakic is one to pander or give false direction to the media

I could see the Avs being interested in Georgiev, but I think the Avs would baulk at the trade you've suggested.

I don't think he's giving "false direction." He answered the question with honesty; that is what he would prefer. Does not mean it will play out that way.

phone typing...missed hes not the one. Hes honest at they come
Hes also super patient and waits for the deal he likes. Never know anything can happen but I would lean to the side of hes going to do more or less what he said unless another GM changes or lowers the price
