Created by: Billy739
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 19, 2020
Published: Feb. 20, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. 2020 1st round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
Kovy and Ovy going on a cup run .
the cost ?
About 8-10 spots in the draft between 1st and 2nd pick if MTL keeps sinking and WSH makes the playoff
WSH
  1. Kovalchuk, Ilya
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (MTL)
2.
MTL
to anywhere for anything (anytime i move him fans from that team pass so lets just generalize for the purpose of this post)
    3.
    MTL
    1. Foote, Cal
    2. Paquette, Cédric
    3. 2020 2nd round pick (TBL)
    4. 2022 3rd round pick (TBL)
    Additional Details:
TBL since 2013 have had 9 first rounders of which they drafted 5 ,traded 4 and of the 5 they drafted only Cal Foote remains.

to say that its likely TBL is willing to part with him would be an understatement.

TBL has put everything into winning and built a large core of players committed to with full NTC and NMC to half their team.
    TBL
    1. Tatar, Tomas ($1,500,000 retained)
    Additional Details:
    Tatar at 3.3m cap

Similar package to what MTL got for Pacioretty at a low in his career.MTL can basically only take Paquette to make the cap work because TBL has NTC for half their team lol so instead they'll take a 3rd in addition where they're getting a lesser player the MTL got in the Pacioretty deal
    4.
    MTL
    1. Timmins, Conor
    2. 2021 1st round pick (COL)
    Additional Details:
TBL gets a pick in the 2020 draft in the 2nd round while MTL upgrades to a 1st in 2021

TBL gets help now at a cap they can afford
MTL gets help speeding along a rebuild by stock piling depth
    COL
    1. Domi, Max ($1,575,000 retained)
    2. 2020 2nd round pick (TBL)
    Additional Details:
Domi @ 1.57 m and his RFA rights to set your own terms
    5.
    MTL
    1. Lafferty, Sam
    2. 2022 2nd round pick (PIT)
    PIT
    1. Cousins, Nick
    2. Thompson, Nate
    Additional Details:
    Deja Vu trade
using the CHI trade where MTL acquired Danault a struggling Center at similar place as Danault when we got him and a 2nd round pick 2 years out . (this deal unlike the original has a RFA and UFA )

i figure why not try this again for Sh^^'s and Giggles .

I like those trades, you try to make them more then fair so they don’t complain but Pittsburgh definitely decline tho + Col have capspace no need to retain on Domi

I gotta think only 1 of Domi/Tatar are expendable.
We've seen time and time, and time again that Lehkonen cannt put the puck in the net and does not deserve 2nd line LW duties.
As usefull as he is, hes an ideal 3rd liner.
