Kreider Trade

Created by: JMaG7201
Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 20, 2020
Published: Feb. 20, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assessing options for a Kreider trade. Most are hot takes, as people think Kreider is worth nothing. Rangers are keen on getting a first, a good prospect, and a small piece. If not that I can see the Rangers getting a young talented forward already in the league and a lower draft pick (3rd or 4th round). THESE TRADES AREN'T ONE FOR ONE.
Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Bellows, Kieffer
Additional Details:
Starting off the list is the New York Islanders. It would take a ton for Jeff Gorton to trade with the Isles, especially someone like Kreider. I don't know what the Isles would have to do to get Kreider, but an overpay would be more than likely due to it being a divisional trade and of course it's the Rangers and the Isles. A player like Bellows is a guy that NYI can afford to lose as they are desperate for goal scoring in the midst of a huge playoff race. I put Bellows in as a potential player but can also be swapped out with the likes of Wahlstrom or Koivula. Enough with the "over valuing Kreider" bs, Blake Coleman just got a first round prospect and a 2020 1st.
2.
NYR
  1. Frederic, Trent
Additional Details:
It's pretty surprising to look at Boston's prospect pool and just look at how much talent they have. In dire need of a speedy winger to support their 2nd line, Kreider seems like a perfect fit. Debrusk isn't happening, as amazing it would be, he's too valuable to Boston. A player like Trent Frederic offers great value as an explosive young centerman that could potentially crack the Rangers roster over Howden or McKegg. Again, another interesting trade to assess given all the prospects Boston has. A player like Frederic would be a solid addition in a package deal for Kreider.
BOS
    Chris Kreider
    3.
    NYR
    1. Thomas, Robert
    Additional Details:
St. Louis is ehhhhh idk, Robert Thomas has great vision for his age and hopefully a long career ahead of him. STL might not be after Kreider anymore because of the Scandella trade. Again, not really sure what the Blues would give up to get Kreider.
    STL
      Chris Kreider
      4.
      NYR
      1. Jost, Tyson
      2. 2020 1st round pick (COL)
      Additional Details:
Alright this is the trade I most likely see happening. Seems extremely reasonable with Rantanen done for a few weeks and Colorado's young offensive talent already showing promise. A player like Jost is an easy move for Sakic and Co. in my opinion.
      COL
        Chris Kreider
        5.
        NYR
        1. McMichael, Connor
        Additional Details:
This is the only thing I want, honestly. Can't get Vrana and their prospect pool is just ok. McMichael has phenomenal speed but would be a tough player to move given his talent and where he was drafted. This is probably the most unlikely location for Kreider to end up at.

I guarantee WSH won't trade McMichael. He's their best prospect and they won't have the cap room to resign Kreider

Agreed, Jost is the most likely if it's with COL.

Assuming each are paired with late first round pick (and perhaps other minor piece)....I'd think NYI/Bellows, BOS/Frederic and COL/Jost are good. I doubt STL parts with Thomas, nor WAS with McMichael.

(also would add a Dallas option)

Isles: Agree, they better be overpaying if Kreids goes there. I'd want Wahlstrom, Ho-Sang, a 1st, +

Boston: I've never seen Frederic play, but < .5 Pts/G in the AHL and 0 pts in 17 NHL games doesn't seem like the quality Rangers want for Kreider

St. Louis: Kyrou is the goal, but Thomas is also a solid player

Colorado: Jost is in his 3rd full season and still hasn't been able to establish himself as a top 6 forward. I'd rather have a prospect that's less of a known quantity, but has a high ceiling

Washington: I don't know much about WSH's prospects, but if the Rangers could get McMichael, YES

You think Thomas would even be in the conversation for a friggin' rental? How much crack are you on exactly? You should probably see a doctor.

The Blues are out of the mix for Kreider. Let it go.
