This leaves dallas's defense way too bare, there's not really a deal to be made here.

You think so? They play such a suffocating 5-man defensive style I figured they could afford to bolster their offense. Plus, while Klingberg was out, they went on a role and didn't necessarily need him. Nylander has the playmaking ability that this team lost when Zucc wasnt resigned. He doesnt quite have the tenacity of a Zuccarello, but his speed and puck handling will definitely benefit an aging Benn and Seguin.

I wouldn't trade away a Norris caliber defenseman

Yeah, even tho the team played well while Klingberg was out, it just doesn't make sense for them to trade their best defenseman. Value is probably about right, but if dallas had to play a whole season without klingberg, I'd say they have no chance at making the playoffs

Norris caliber?!?!?! tears of joy You must not watch the Stars very much. Also, Lindell is their best defensman and it is not close. Heiskenen will be in two years.
