I've never been a fan of trading Nylander, I just don't see how trading young talented wingers with a decent contract will work out. Also is Nashville in need of another RW with Grandlund/Turris? And when is Ellis coming off IR because Toronto would need him in the lineup ASAP.

Didn't realize he was still out, as for the rest I'm not huge on trading Nylander but the reality is to up grade to a real Top RHD (which Ellis is ) Any combination of Kapenen Kerfoot prospects won't get it done, and as leaf fans we continuously claim Kapenen is a top 6 F so let's prove it. Granlund is a UFA and I see Nash selling him Turris is Turris, Nylander certainly doesn't hurt their forward group and gives them options to change up the top 6 if they feel so inclined

You are correct Ellis is out, seems more of an offseason move but with it being Ellis's knee I'm substantially more wary of this trade

True. If it brought in a true top RHD then the deal could work. I'm probably a little biased towards moving Nylander because I love him and Ellis and isn't as flashy a name as some other top RHD. This is an interesting idea though. Technically anyone can get traded for the right price/if it makes sense for both teams.

Ellis skated this this week in practice at his normal spot next to Josi. He is going to be a gametime decision for 2/21 game against Chicago.

Trade is decent, but Nashville's biggest problem is defense at the moment. Getting ellis back will be huge for them. Ellis is actually expected back friday or saturday. He's coming off a concussion from the winter classic. His knee is fine he looks like his old self again prior to the concussion.
