Bruins are only getting one of these guys. Depending on how much they will give up.

Um. Do you know who he is? He’s that guy that since joining the league has been playing in the top six in the Stanley cup final, and now plays in the top six for the team with the most points in the NHL. No interest? Seems a bit harsh, especially when the return is a guy with a mesmerizing .34 points per game.

I think the NYR deal looks good.

The NJD also looks ok, maybe slightly favors BOS. But that pick (the ARI 2021 3rd rounder) is the conditional pick from the Taylor Hall trade, which could turn into 2nd or even 1st.

Why are you so ready to trade him then?

I agree that a 2nd, even despite being the same value, is more appealing to the rangers. They just traded for Gauthier... they don't need another roster RW replacement.

This is not my ACGM. I’m not in favor of this move.

Your right to think that too. Hes just another guy despite what some crazy homers think he is. Take the second if you can get it

He’s no blue chipper, but a rebuilding team should have more than, “absolutely no interest.” If it’s a choice between kuhlman and a third, i would rather kuhlman.

The cost of Kase, who Bruins fans were calling "soft, lazy" and "not very good" was Axel Andersson +

The cost of dumping Backes was the 1st rounder.

They retained $1.5 million to get back their +

This ain't my first rodeo, boys

Meh. Can’t really know what the thought process was unless you were in the room. Maybe the ducks and bruins thought that Kase was worth a first given that he’s signed for another year at a very good cap number. Maybe it was a 1st for kase, and andersson for taking 75% of Backes. Kind of impossible for us to know. I wouldn’t agree with that line of thought, but I’ve been surprised by trades before, and that model isn’t outlandish.

I don’t agree with him either, but it’s pretty clear that is not what he’s saying.

Not what I said.

It is Kase for Axel plus X
Backes plus 1st for nothing
$1.5 million retained to keep the X

This deal reaffirms the market (ie, $6 million dead money will cost a 1st...$4 million a 2nd...)

EDIT...and for the record, I am high on Axel. I have suggested in a number of spots here that Axel is the player teams should consider over Vakaanainen.
