Description

I originally wanted this trade include more pieces, but that many moving parts is best reserved for the off-season. Trocheck's name has been out there a lot lately and is the type of player we have been missing this season. Staal has not provided enough on the offensive end which has us needing a true 2-way center. With Haula most likely leaving as an UFA, we need to use our extra 1st to acquire this type of player.

Trocheck = Gardiner, Wallmark, Kuokkanen and 1st. FLA gets a 3C replacement and a B prospect who projects as a 3C (better than Saarela) + a 1st Round Pick. Gardiner fills FLA's need for a LHD. FLA could then move out a more coveted RHD at the deadline, like Stralman or Ekblad, for more cap savings and a great return.

Bean is brought up to replace Gardiner on PP2 and is paired with Fleury. They have chemistry from playing together in CLT.

Panthers aren’t trading Ekblad, the whole purpose of trading Trocheck would be to get a LHD to play with Ekblad.
