These are all self inflicted moves. They have the personnel to put out a respectable bottom 6, but Barry trotz just refuses to trust young players with skill.

dont bring up ho-sang, this team doesn’t need any skilled middle 6 forwards that can carry the puck into the zone

Lou is at fault for not making trades, but trotz personnel decisions are bizarre

Lou is more at fault for signing older, slower players.

They need to move out some of the dead weight, this is what I want next year:

Bellows-Barzal-Eberle
Beau-Nelson-Wahlstrom
Lee-Koivula-Ho-Sang
Leo/Johnston-Czizkas- Clutterbuck

Out: Bailey, Martin, Kuhnackal, Dal Colle

Minors: Ladd, Bardreau,

Just saw this on twitter :
. 14-3-2 when Komarov is out of the lineup. 19-17-4 when he's in. 21-10-2 when Kuhnhackl sits. 12-10-4 when he's in. 9-8-4 when they both play.

Yeah the funny thing is kuhnhackl is one of the worst players defensively in the entire NHL. Komarov at 5 v 5 is pretty bad as well, but he’s decent on the pk.

Lou and trotz love to talk about roles when a player doesn’t make the team out of camp, then a player gets injured and instead of putting one of your prospects with top 6 potential in that spot, they put a grinder. Unreal

The most frustrating part is they could revamp the lineup internally. They actually do not need to bring new players in (I am not against that), but play the good young kids and move out the older veterans.

At this point I would give Wahlstrom a shot in the top 6

Prospects are never given a fair shot. They are placed in a grinders role (like wahlstrom in his 9 game stint) and when they don’t produce they are sent back down. Guys like johnston, kuhnhackl, and komarov are given top 6 roles though!

It’s really irritating, and then the GMs wonder why we have a hard time developing prospects

Trotz did the same thing with vrana, forsberg, and burakovsky. He is not a good coach for rookies.

I was hoping that after seeing what Vrana and Burakovsky did that he would change, but apparently not

The excuse some fans use as to why guys like komarov and kuhnhackl get ice time over the prospects is because they are responsible in their own end, but that’s not true. Both of those guys are liabilities , so maybe it’s just a respect thing with prospects? really don’t know lol

Wahlstrom was he was up looked miles better than both Kuhn and Leo, in both zones, I mean if we were consistently winning I’d b ok with it, but we aren’t

Isles were at their best when komarov was injured and wahlstrom + bardreau were in the lineup.

And you’re right, wahlstrom is better defensively than both of them, his underlying numbers defensively (xGA + CA/60) are pretty good. Same with josh-ho-sang.

@Warrior24 is right, our problems can be fixed internally - but we have a stubborn GM and coach , they have to win with guys who have a certain personality and experience level.

Exactly, the only problem I think we ,ight need to go outside for is a 3C, but I’m afraid Lou does that cuz his idea of a 3C is like Tanner Glass
