He's a option that does not cost you a asset.

Like Kovalchuk, If his contract is terminated he is still an NHL caliber player at league minimum and a decent one at that. Just because someone is overpaid that doesn't make them an AHLer. Bogo requested a trade from Buffalo and they also have very deep RD depth so he was sent down but is refusing to play in the minors. He is still a decent #4 and good on the PK. If Ceci is out for the season he is a good replacement
