The Kase trade proved that GMBM doesn't value players properly which explains why they overvalue Manson so much.
So not likely.

But maybe the Leafs could get Manson at a discount considering Boston got Kase at a discount

No see they undervalue Kase, but overvalue Manson.

No because Ducks GMBM values Manson more then Kase, Ceci is even worse then Manson. Like we've said before if the Leafs want Mason the Ducks want Liljegren. Murray has stated numerous times that he has high regards for Manson and he wont come cheaply.

I just don't understand why they don't want to trade Mason because of "Long term outlook" or some crap like that but trade away their best young forward on the team

Ducks must love Andersson. Seems like a steal for the Bruins to get Kase and dump Backes for about 28th pick, unless the Andersson is going to NHL good.

Well you should know that ducks fans had 0 interest in trading Kase... GMBM just isn't a smart man

This is why I never speak in absolutes when discussing trade scenarios, within reason of course, and it annoys the heck out of me when people do. “If *insert player* got this then that means *insert player* will get this. Hands down.” The value of one player may be drastically different than another to different GMs. This trade deadline and others should be evidence of that.

Kase = Boston 2020 second plus Axel Andersson
Backes = difference between Boston 2020 second and Boston 2020 first

How is this "getting Kase at a discount"?

I'd imagine with how highly they were valuing Kase they could get more

Well, most of us Anaheim fans were more realistic.

I feel like some leafs fans have a selective reading issue. Numerous times (including what you responded to with this comment) it has been said that Anaheim's RD depth is the worst in the league. They literally have Manson and Gudbranson (who is injured too), that is it. If the team is to trade Manson they 100% want a good RD prospect back regardless of if you are offering "players of fair value." If Anaheim knew they were drafting top 5 this year and could guarantee getting Drysdale then sure, they will take your "fair value" trade, but they don't know where they are picking.
