Description
They didn’t touch the puck last night, they’re 11th in the west in point%, they play Tampa on Saturday... I know the optics of trading Hall again are really bad, but they might have to.

Don't know that I would personally pull the trigger on that but I wouldn't be super mad if that was a move we make. I think this is a better return for them than they sent the devils actually.

It’s funny that this is the case, but Hall might be the only rental who we can fit into our cap situation

That's why a rental like this is the only one I think makes sense, it's the only kind of trade that doesn't force us to remove someone hugely important to our roster (due respect to Sanford)

Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought the total amount of a single contract retention is 50%? Meaning Hall can’t be retained on anymore as NJD has already retained 50%.

That is correct. This deal would be struck down. There would be a 1st round pick penalty for illegal contract and we'd have to sacrifice our first born as a Devils fan I understand it.

Here is the challenge....

1. If ARI falls further out of playoff race, the biggest beneficiary would be the Devils, who hold their #1 (top-3 protected).
2. And if STL resigns Hall, ARI has to give NJD their 2021 #2 pick...as the second condition is not if ARI resigns him, but it is if he signs new deal before July 1 2020 (STL would be only eligible team to do that).

Lol

Coyotes should move Hall before the deadline if he will not sign a new deal to committ to Arizona for the long-term.
