His numbers have been excellent! Great signing for COL, figured he would get more on the open market.

Seems like a solid signing for both player and team.

Frankie is a stud goaltender, plays very well, and with him and Gru, this duo would be great for the new 2 goalie system.

Didn't expect that 2nd year. Looks like a really good deal for the Avs. Was great in the KHL and is now really good at the Avs. Reliable goalie

Wow. Fantastic signing.

Francouz has shown he’s a #1 goalie and has taken #2 money. While his NHL resume is limited, he has a long track record in Europe and was generally in the conversation of “best goalie not in the NHL”. Whatever doubts existed have largely evaporated with his play for the Avs this season.

I figured 1y at $2M would be something that Francouz would agree to but getting a second year at that amount is just highway robbery. I would bet that before the end of this contract Grubauer is out the door and Francouz is the unopposed #1 in Colorado.

Didn't realize how old he was, great contract for the numbers he is putting up this season though.

Tandem goaltending in Colorado imo, not a backup.
Good signing.

Signing a starter for 2 million is Pavel high, he could get way more than this.

He had that 1 hot stretch, but he's cooled off and is now ice cold. Overpaid.

Which hot streak? The one where he dominated the KHL, or the the one where he pretty much carried the Eagles to the AHL playoffs, or where he went 9=0=1 or presently where he almost shut out the NYI last game if the D (ehmm... i love him but he is a rookie... Makar hadn't let him down). You might actually want to watch him play. Great signing.

He's 29??? I thought he was early 20's. I wonder why it took him so long to make the big leagues?
