Team: 2019-20 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 23, 2020
Published: Feb. 23, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Erik Gustafsson played with TVR a lot in Rockford years back. They're familiar with eachother playing styles. It's like riding a bike. Give them a few games and they'll be a solid line for CAR.

Lehner speaks for itself.

Saad is a big difference maker. He's having a REALLY good year. If you don't watch the Hawks he's been one of their best players on the entire team. Behind Kane for sure, but 2nd of 3rd best forward all year.

If all those pieces are moving in a single trade, hawks get a top prospect like Bean or Bokk.

The way I broke it down...

Lehner TOR 1st
Saad CAR 1st
Gus NYR 2nd
Retention 2nd round pick.

Players going back to CHI are really of no value at all other than making the cap work for CAR. Especially Mrazek, if he's injured. CAR needs to send 1 goalie back and there really is roughly a 1000 to 1 shot he'll be a decent net minder in CHI.

Yeah It was easy to match up what came back for each player. I think we both have a similar idea of return values. I just think it would be easy for Chicago to get a top prospect in this scenario because the amount of quality pieces going to Carolina. The trade becomes a little different when they are all together rather than being dealt separately.

I think this deal works well for the hawks. 2020 is a deep draft, and I would be open to moving one of the three 1sts the hawks would have in this scenario to get immediate help/that top prospect you're talking about in the offseason. I don't see how one could say no to this.

Bean would be a very ideal acquisition. Top prospect that is definitely NHL ready. Stuck behind the depth of defense Carolina has. On almost any other team he would be playing in the NHL this year. I would be willing to alter this trade to get him. On the other hand, Bokk and other prospects are not NHL ready. I kinda agree that getting the extra 1st then trading it for someone could be a great move.

Bean would be nice, but how many more LD do the hawks need in their system? Bokk would make more sense, as the hawks have fewer prominent forward prospects.
