Serious question then. What is it they do need?

Not embarrassing. It actually is a good offer. But we can agree to disagree.

Guess you do not watch Sam play much . Just look at score sheets ? Embarrassing. Terrible offer for a first line winger that helps drive Eichel.

Can't just look at the score sheets. You have to take in the affect he has on the team. Eichel is a player that can make players play better than they are. Now Sam is a good player in his own right but every player that plays with Eichel gets a boost to point totals. So points can be misleading. Buffalo has never been in a real position to play meaningful games in March yet while either Eichel or Sam have been on the team. That says something. Yeah, likely he won't be traded. But pricing him like he is Eichel is just foolish. Again we can agree to disagree.

This has been discussed at length on Buffalo Forums . Sam can produce on his own and has . . Sam supports Jack . He drives possession for Jack . His first priority is always to get Jack the puck. Has said that in interviews. He always get back first to help the D so Jack does can concentrate of the offensive zone . To appreciate Sam's game you have to watch him . And concentrate on all the things he does without the puck. He thinks the game on a higher level . His passing is amazing all 200 feet . His breakout passes and in the offensive zone are things of beauty. Above all they are best friends and the bond is special and it shows on the ice. So getting back to your proposed trade . It is a joke. The reason they have not made the playoffs is the destruction done to the organization by Tim Murray . His accelerated rebuild attempt dug such a deep hole that we are still digging out . Read this to see. https://wgr550.radio.com/articles/opinion/sabres-still-paying-sins-tim-murray

All of this is bias fan talk. Look, Tim Murray cannot be blamed for what's going on now. Again I don't think it would happen but you Sabres fans think that Sam is Eichel. But again we can agree to disagree

You have no clue . Tim Murray is to blame . He traded away all developing prospects and drafted like crap . We have a huge hole in the talent pipeline because of him and still are struggling to build assets in the system . Till this summer the team was in cap hell thanks to all his bad deals signed while he was here . You should do some homework . Tried to help you understand but guess you can't read . Botterill has drafted well but it takes 4 to 6 years to develop players . Botterill trading away all those picks and using the ones we had badly are our biggest weakness. right now.

The Sabres have problems defending and in goal. Truth. No matter how you slice it, they can't stop other teams from scoring. The only reason the Jackets didn't torch the Sabres over the past few weeks is because the Jackets are without their best players. 9 starters! 9! If you sit there and tell me that the Sabres are good on defense and in goal but the Jackets competed closely with practically their AHL team, then we now know who doesn't have a clue. Defenseman and Goaltenders are the hardest to develop. It take years to develop correctly. But by then the core that was young is now getting older and start shortening the window of where you can be competitive. Just for comparison Nutivarra would be the best defenseman on your team outside of Dahlin. But whatever, think what you want.

You are so far off in all your observations. Team has been decimated by injuries . With no system depth to fill thanks to Murray's reckless trades and even worse drafting . D corp is young and going to be very good . Goaltending pipeline is great with Johansson , UPL and Portillo

No way Reinhart is moved for anything other than a top center...period
The Sabres are in desperate need of NHL ready centers
