You are trading 2 1st rounders for your 2C? That alone is far too much for any 2C let alone Cirelli. At the beginning of this year TB fans were complaining about him so I wouldn't be overly committed to him. Especially giving up a top 4 Dman, two firsts and a touted prospect. Thompson probably isn't much anyways so TB is likely not even interested in him.

He is highly talented and is only going to get better. I obviously overpayed as an emphasis as to how badly we need a another great center

Yeah, you do. It's just a bad trade for Buffalo. If you want Cirelli is the return Tampa Bay is asking? Probably could use Mittelstadt as a trade chip then. Better that than two 1sts.

well people are all screaming bust on Mitts just because his development hasn't been as fast as anticipated.

Yeah I know. He's barely even 21 and I wouldn't exactly say he's been unproductive. But also he could use a good culture to develop into which Buffalo has kinda been lacking.

I think maybe this offseason there will be a great exchange of young revival projects. Puljujarvi, Andersson, Honka, Mittelstadt, Jost, etc

Yeah I have heard he has a killer 200 foot game and exits the zone like no other. But x2 1sts from a non-playoff team. It's steep.

Going to take a pretty good prospect. A 1st isn't enough for Strome and Montour is a dump more or less. Maybe someone such as Samuelsson.

I really like this idea, given Tampa's cap problems. But I doubt Tampa takes the trade route with Cirelli.

Montour is a UFA no? Anyway, Hawks are clogged on the right side with Murphy, Boqvist, Mitchell coming up next year and Seabrook

No, RFA. I get your confusion now.

Either way, Hawks are clogged on the right side with Murphy, Boqvist, Mitchell coming up next year, and Seabrook. Taking on a RFA in Montour doesn't make sense for them. On the left side Hawks have Keith, DeHaan, Maatta and plenty of 3rd line prospects.

Hawks do need forwards or a hot goalie prospect.

I fully agree. My point was that Montour isn't a dump.

I didn't realize he was a RFA, thought he was a UFA which because the Hawks are clogged on defense would make him a dump to them as they wouldn't sign him in free agency.

Yeah, if that was the case, I would have agreed with you.
