How sick would it be for Ilya Kovalchuk to win the cup with Ovechkin? I love this pickup for Washington.

Teams passed on him for free. I think they are kicking themselves the most.

If there ever was a time that a player and GM were both involved in a trade it would be this one. Berge wants Kovy back, likely could’ve got more in a last minute pick tomorrow but perhaps this is where Kovy wanted to go and told Berge he would sign in the summer if he makes the trade. Who knows but either way I’m excited to see what Kovy can bring to the Caps, he’s definitely still got some game and I think his drive to win will help the Caps.

This is exactly what happened IMO! He ask for it and MB said ok but you come back buddy! If not, than its stupid because any team who missed their first target tomorrow would have paid a little more not to finish with empty hands.
