I think they'll trade Tatar, Petry before Domi.

you're not Sakic, we get it you dont want to move Byram Newhook Timmins Girard MacKinnon Francouz Graves Kamenev because they are all Elite player but if you want something solid, it's not with a 1st and Jost you'll get it

the thing is Newhook's value is very close to Erik Brannstrom's. Mark Stone with "downgraded value" was the price to pay to send Brannstrom, & 2nd rd pick to Ottawa.

Good trade.
Bergevin wants young prospects that could help next year so Newhook is a good idea.
Except Bergevin was in Colorado to see 2 games so he is looking at 1 or more roster player(s) otherwise why travel there.
Domi could be traded there for sure. Maybe other Montreal players could be involved in a mega trade.

Hopefully we're not trading for Jost or Zadorov

I'm not saying the Habs should give up a Mark Stone type of player but the value has to be close to Mark Stone "not at Fair-value" (i'm saying non-fair value because Stone lost a lot of value due to wanting out of a rebuilding Ottawa team). Fair-value Mark Stone is probably worth at least Brannstrom + 1st round pick, + 2nd round pick. So yeah Tomas Tatar wont' get you Newhook.

Im not Sakic but every avs writer is saying this and Sakic himself said it. So I don’t have to be Sakic to tell you that Newhook isn’t being moved

Stop throwing hissy fits everytime one of your over values habs trades gets negative comments

Look at track record of blown gaskets about kovalchuk. What you were fighting about was off the mark when you associated an out landish value for him

Always said a 3rd rd pick for Kovalchuk and Scandella but we got lucky on Scandella, but Tatar is worth more than Coleman and Coleman brought a 1st + Foote and Tatar is really better than Coleman

Lightning admitted they over paid for him bc they needed his cheap cap hit next year and they wanted to keep him away from the bruins

Sorry but just bc the lightning decided they are comfortable over paying bc of those reasons which gives their current core one last shot to win before it gets torn apart bc if cap crunch doesn’t mean a team will over pay for tatar

Tatar will get a good return but the reasons why lightning felt they could afford to do that move doesn’t mean another team will.

Tatar will be move if a team overpay, if not, he's staying in MTL so he wont get a good return, it's a great one or nothing

Then he stays. I don’t think teams are lining up for him so keep Him. Or wait till the offseason when the market for him is deeper than just a handful of playoff contenders

These are the same arguments all over again that Hab fans went through on here with Pacioretty. nobody wants to give their top prospects, we get it. but Patches wasn't going to move unless one was going to be given. VGK caved in and gave their 3rd best prospect (back then #1 was Glass, #2 was Brannstrom, Suzuki #3)

So if were trying to have comparisons here, yes Newhook is 99.9% off the table, same as Byram. but guys like Timmins, etc are going to have to be considered as movable for someone like Tatar.
Pacioretty > Tatar don't get me wrong, but the point is that there's no rush to move him now because he's not a rental, unless someone pays up. Not saying COL will be the ones to do it, but these ACGMs aren't going to go away any time soon lol so learn to deal with them awesome face

No. Im saying the Habs have to give up something close to a "Non-fair value Mark Stone" to get Newhook. Even a non-fair value stone has more value than Domi.
