Honestly don’t get why anyone would take that Karlsson contract. If he was on waivers, do you think a team would pick him up?

Yeah almost certainly.

Problem is that there's very few teams with that much cap space.

But you can bet a rebuilding team like Wings, Kings or Devils would take him for free.

I'm a wings fan and wouldn't touch that contract for free. I'd be scared to take it at half that price for the length of it. You want your pick back prob starts with tkachuk and goes up from there

Sharks decline. Im one of the few Sharks fans that believes in Erik and thinks he will have some success in the future with us. The season from hell is almost over and a good retool will put us in a better spot including Erik.

That pick is still an unknown and will be until whatever player it is has a few years under his belt at least we know what we’re going to get with Erik. The pick could turn out to be Nail Yakupov or Erik Johnson our it could be Cale Makar or Mat Barzal, either way, i am good with Karlsson on the Sharks smile

I get that he's a bit injury prone and a bit risky deal, but regardless he'd be by far your best D-man.

Probably the best player of your entire team.

His PPG is higher than Larkin's, for example.

We are rebuilding, wouldn't touch that cap space no matter what. Sj would have to throw in so much to make it worth it. As a wings fan draft and developing is the key. He would be our best dman, doesn't mean he would help us how we need. You would have to eat half his salary and add major pieces for us to even consider it. Unfortunately you are stuck with his contract for 223 more years at 11 trillion dollars a year

It's ironic that the main reason you won't take Karlsson is that because you need to suck more. Oh well.

I wouldn't call EK negative value personally. Granted he's overpaid, but regardless he's still extremely good D-man, and he wouldn't have been any cheaper had he become UFA.

Erik has shown in spurts this season how good he can be. He was becoming more consistent in the weeks leading up to his injury. When he was at his best, though, he was flat out dominant. I think we’ll see more dominance next season.
