I feel like he probably could’ve gotten a bit more closer to 3pm, where GMs are more desperate

Unless we're counting the Mike Green trade, this is the first trade of the day ... it depends what time zone you're in, but for me, it's the first trade of the day.

I say Colorado wins but it might be like the DeMelo deal where Ottawa didn't get a better offer, so they took the best one they could get.

OTT gave their 2021 4th + Ebert (pointless) and receive COL 2021 4th. Basically, they lost a couple rank for 2021 draft.

That seems a little underwhelming.

I would say Colorado wins this trade but Namestnikov's cap hit probably evens things out. Starting to really like the look of the Avalanche as they are heading into the end of the regular season. I think they have a good shot at the cup

Oh lord... another blowout in ottawa...
This team will be the #1 conter for the next 10 years... for the number 1 draft pick...

Bit sens management will screw up the draft and pick the wrong players... sad realy sad for my fav team... i hope eugene is going to sell the team soon

Namestnikov is an impending UFA, but Colorado has the cap space to resign him. Ottawa could've gotten more than just a 4th for him though.

Steal for Colorado imo. I would've preferred Namestnikov over Marleau for the Penguins. Sure he has good leadership, but Vlad is a really speedy winger that would work well in Pittsburgh.

I'm sure the cap hit had something to do with it.

Good move for COL. not sure OTT would have got more for him.

Ya if Pittsburgh even looked at Namestnikov, Ottawa would’ve had to retain 50%. Then of course PIT would have to pay a lot more tho.

Tyler Ennis would’ve been a nice add for us too!

I think they wanted someone with some size.

And Namestnikov got better after going to Ottawa.

Amazing trade by Sakic. Hats off to him.
One of the best trades of the day for almost free.(Ennis+Grant similar good value) He will help a lot in the playoffs. I always liked him in tampa...
Yes, in New York Rangers jersey he was not that good, but let's just say he was a bad fit... it happens...
Russian players are always tricky... Look at Kovi in LA vs Montreal vs soon Washington... He might bad bad there again, you just never know...

Go Colorado Avalanche !
