Mark hunter and brother dale routinely deal high end players in the ohl when the knights are good but not good enough to win, retooling the team.
This teams asset management is horrible, Barrie is horrible for this team, this team if they make the playoffs is bounced again in the first round, with nothing but more embarrassment or more pissed off fans
Roster turnover and asset values are different in the OHL than they are in the NHL.
Not great considering they didn't win the cup in those two years?
The players they brought in during the two deadlines were: Brad Malone, Zachary Sanford, Nikita Soshnikov and Eric Foley.
They sold shattenkirk and stasny when they knew they just weren’t good enough, from looking at what the rest of the fan base thinks, yes they should have sold Barrie, leafs management are just to pigheaded to admit they jumped the gun declaring the rebuild over it’s not btw

or that toronto is not in the same place st louis was during those two seasons and believed keeping barrie was better than trading him for an underwhelming return. you'd be complaining if they didn't get a first back in a barrie trade.
Blues did it at the 2017 and 2018 trade deadline, how’d that work for them ?
Pretending like random roster decisions in different years is the only reason the Blues won the cup in 2019 ... and that the Leafs must follow suit to be successful ... lol.
I'd attribute their cup to drafting Pietrangelo + Parayko and trading for O'Rielly a little more than their deadline moves in 2017 + 2018 ... wouldn't you agree?
Unless you think Dominik Bokk and Zach Sanford (via 2017 + 2018 deadline trades) won them the cup? .
'The dude just turned 30 ... maybe you should chill with assuming he'll be an "anchor" by 32.
Some people man.'
He just turned 31. So at 33..... a good chance this contract isnt that great, and on a cap stretched team- any overpay on a depreciating asset- is an anchor.

Wrong.
They traded the 1st round pick from the Shattenkirk trade to get Brayden Schenn. Sanford has 30 PT so he's no slouch. They also got Dominik Bokk for trading Statsny.

If you win the cup, every trade becomes a win
That's the ultimate goal. Making the conf-finals/finals 5 years in a row < 1 cup
Forsberg:i think he got traded from Washington, then couple years later--->they won the cup anyways, who cares anymore after that...
