Mark hunter and brother dale routinely deal high end players in the ohl when the knights are good but not good enough to win, retooling the team.
This teams asset management is horrible, Barrie is horrible for this team, this team if they make the playoffs is bounced again in the first round, with nothing but more embarrassment or more pissed off fans

Roster turnover and asset values are different in the OHL than they are in the NHL.

Blues did it at the 2017 and 2018 trade deadline, how’d that work for them ?

Not great considering they didn't win the cup in those two years?

The players they brought in during the two deadlines were: Brad Malone, Zachary Sanford, Nikita Soshnikov and Eric Foley.

They sold shattenkirk and stasny when they knew they just weren’t good enough, from looking at what the rest of the fan base thinks, yes they should have sold Barrie, leafs management are just to pigheaded to admit they jumped the gun declaring the rebuild over it’s not btw

or that toronto is not in the same place st louis was during those two seasons and believed keeping barrie was better than trading him for an underwhelming return. you'd be complaining if they didn't get a first back in a barrie trade.

Muzzin is a very good piece. Now we just need a right handed version of him and we're set.

The Leafs need to give their Capologists a raise.

Of the sameCapologiists should have been fired for the contracts awarded Matthews, Nylander and Marner. At the time an overpayment.

He's already hurt! Quite an ominous start to what looked like a pretty solid signing 2 days ago.

Matthews and Nylander contracts now excellent. Tavares now troubling. Marner now bad. Always bad.

Pretending like random roster decisions in different years is the only reason the Blues won the cup in 2019 ... and that the Leafs must follow suit to be successful ... lol.

I'd attribute their cup to drafting Pietrangelo + Parayko and trading for O'Rielly a little more than their deadline moves in 2017 + 2018 ... wouldn't you agree?

Unless you think Dominik Bokk and Zach Sanford (via 2017 + 2018 deadline trades) won them the cup? .

'The dude just turned 30 ... maybe you should chill with assuming he'll be an "anchor" by 32.

Some people man.'

He just turned 31. So at 33..... a good chance this contract isnt that great, and on a cap stretched team- any overpay on a depreciating asset- is an anchor.

some people man

Barrie is still a f$&king leaf !
Never been so sure hunter should have been GM
Nice distraction with this signing though leaf PR department

Hunter can't even get an NHL job. Dubas was the right pick.

Wrong.

They traded the 1st round pick from the Shattenkirk trade to get Brayden Schenn. Sanford has 30 PT so he's no slouch. They also got Dominik Bokk for trading Statsny.

If you win the cup, every trade becomes a win wink
That's the ultimate goal. Making the conf-finals/finals 5 years in a row < 1 cup

Forsberg:i think he got traded from Washington, then couple years later--->they won the cup anyways, who cares anymore after that...

How many cups Nashville won with that trade? 0

Yep I completely agree. They got 16 points in the playoffs by selling at the TD.

The trade for Schenn wasn't a deadline trade.
