Pesce and Dougie are on LTIR. This current roster is at 25 as well if they come back after the season ends their cap hits are irrelevant

NHL might send in independent doctors to evaluate the players to see if their injuries really do belong on LTIR because that some serious cap circumvention going on here....

Douggie could pull a Patrick Kane...truly be hurt, but triple make sure you're 110% ready and wait until the playoffs....when the cap is lifted.

Based on Pesce’s reaction to the injury it looked like he tore a pec or bicep. That’s a long term injury. Mrazek with a concussion. Don’t know how long that’ll last. And who knows how bad Reimer’s injury is but lower body on a goalie could linger a long time.

I like the Sami trade from the CAR perspective. I really don't like the Skjei trade though. $5.2M is a TON for what he provides....AND it's 4.5 more years. I think this was a knee jerk trade once CAR and CHI couldn't come to terms. He provides a service right now due to the injuries....so that's a big plus, but a 1st for someone who will play a 2nd pair (initially) or more likely a 3rd pair role...that costs $5.2M. It seems short sighted. Seattle risk is there too.

They dominated the 3rd period vs the leafs with a zamboni driver in net.

Idt it matters who they play if they play like they that. Masterclass of puck pressure all over the ice.

you are dreaming, any other team would have obliterated CAR in that 3rd period...the laffs are a bad team with no heart do not base that CAR can win with no NHL tenders on a single period of play....

Carolina rallies hard. Leafs are a dangerous team (but like you said, lack heart). If Carolina can play this shutdown style until Reimer or Mrazek are back they should be able to succeed with Nedjelovic and Forsberg

Theres also they long shot that one of Forsberg or Ned just stands on their head until the playoffs and doesnt get sent down.

the shut down style only worked because they where playing the laffs and Keefe did not adjust, like i said do not base everything on one period of play VS a bad team....i am not for or against CAR just being realistic here....

there is also that chance but that is one hell of gamble with the wild card race so tight in the east....
