He’s having a brutal season and he’s terrible defensively . Gardiner is better than Skjei I’m not sure why the canes did this. The trades for trocheck and Vatanen were solid. I’m surprised they didn’t use the 1st to acquire lehner

Well... the 1st is more for taking Gourde's contract (not confirmed, but supposedly) than it is for Goodrow, I think.
