Description
Probably the most useless Armchair GM team on the site right now, but for all the Wings fans, here's my take on the lines for the final 18 games (not that it matters).

I think the biggest things to look for in these last games is:
1. The same as all year, growth and production from our more polished core (Zadina included).
2. Timashov can be an interesting piece in all of this. I think he's got a lot of skill and was just stuck behind a stacked Toronto offense. Here he'll get top9 minutes and probably at least a look at top6 until Zadina gets back. He's 23, so he's young enough to where if he works out - the next Fabbri. If not, oh well.
3. When Zadina returns, we are going to have too many players. As you can see I already am scratching four guys which obviously is too many, and thats already with sending Ericsson down. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.
4. Possible Seider/Veleno callup. Honestly after watching Yzerman's press conference today and from what I've been seeing on Twitter, I would be surprised to see either of them called up. I think the general feeling is that they are better served playing in really important, meaningful games in GR, as they are right in the mix of the playoff race, instead of getting smacked every night at the NHL level for 3 weeks. But if we do see one or both of them, obviously that in itself will be exciting.

I don’t think there is enough room for all of Perlini, Erne, and Tima. I’m curious to see if one or two of them get flipped at the draft for more picks. Seider should def get a call up (especially now with Hronek still out) but I’m not sure if Veleno does. I’d like to see Ras get a few games at the NHL level playing Center as well. But like you said, GR is in a playoff race and I’d like to see them playing meaningful games post season down there.

Yea I'm with you, I don't expect Perlini, Erne, and Timashov to all be on the roster next year. I just mean in the short term, it is worthwhile to see what they decide to do. If they decide to continue to scratch Abby, or (hopefully) they stick Nielsen up in the press box as well. Would be telling on which one, and if they even decide to buy either one of them out.

The buyout for either is ugly. hopefully they get "back pains" in the offseason and can't play next year.

I wouldn't buyout Abby, not this year, but Nielsen's is actually not even bad. It's like $3M next year and $4M in 2021/22, but then it's less than 700K for those final two years. The cap probably won't even matter that much in the next two years anyway. Unless something extraordinary happens I doubt we would be spending to it anyway. I would do it.
