An extension can be part of the deal, that's cool. He just can't do that until July 1st.

Donato and Hartman are nothing. Neither of the.make the leafs today. Nylander is a way better winger and overall player then dumba.

Okay but you realize there's gonna be changes in the offseason. That Leafs roster is not staying together if they miss the playoffs or get beat in round 1. Something is gonna give and there are plenty of hockey trades that happen. Every single trade ever includes a better player, you can't value guys that way or there would never be a trade ever again in the NHL.

I wouldn’t trade Brodin for Domi straight up, much less throw in a 2nd.

I forgot to add that it's Domi for Brodin, 2nd only added if Brodin doesn't extend with Montreal

I just fixed my would to wouldn’t.

I’m just not sold on Domi. I’d much rather extend Brodin than trade him for Domi and then pay him that much.

Domi would be a long term top 6 forward that is probably better than every single one we have right now, and can play C. Less potential than Fiala and Kaprizov of course, but I don’t see any reason to not go after him.

I see him as just another good player, but not a player to build a Cup contending team around.

I don't see any C the Wild can get with Brodin or Dumba as that kind of player. I think the closest they get to that is getting lucky in the lottery and getting Byfield.

Donato has 13 goals playing 10.5 minutes per game with no power play time. Kapanen, Kerfoot, Mikheyev, Johnsson, Engvall and Gauthier (aka the entire bottom 6 of Toronto) ALL have fewer goals besides Kapanen who is tied. AND they all average close to 15 minutes a night. Funny how Toronto fans believe their team is worth more than everyone else when their stats say the complete opposite.

Mikheyev has more points in 22 less games and is a more important player then donato. He kills penalties and has a higher gar. All the guys you mentioned except gauthier and maybe Engvall all far better. Trading Nylander for Dumba who is an overpaid 2nd pair defenseman, a 12th forward and donato who would be a 3rd liner at best on the leafs is awful

Johnsson is the most overrated in all of this. Guy is already 25 and barely on pace to put up 40 points on a Toronto team that scores goal like it’s nothing.

To be fair he is injured and was playing through leg injuries so hes never been fully healthy but realistically hes a 50-60 point winger as long as he plays in the top 6. Sure hes overrated by most leafs fans but he was injured, came back and by the time he was 100% he got injured again almost right away. Hes also been shooting at a really low percentage compared to the rest of his career.
