Salary Cap Mode: Basic

I increased the salary cap by the bare minimum of 1M. We can all agree Bettman sucks so it probably will only be 1M even though sources in the NHL say it could go up 1.5M or 2M. Finally Henrik decides he is willing to move on and chase a cup in the last year of his deal. It's easier for him to make this move in the off season and waive instead of waiving at this deadline or last for family reasons. He has the right to do so and pick a few teams to go to hes a legend and deserves every ounce of respect. the rangers have their 2 goalies of the future with shesterkin being the #1. We eat salary on hank to appease sakics **** ass who seems to want to get everything for free in a trade and never wants to give up anything in a trade. We wont get much for hank a 39 year old aging goalie who is still good but not 2011 vezina hank so we swap a good d prospect for another forward rfa prospect and get a 2nd for hank. Colorado doesn't make the western conference finals in 2020 and needs a goalie to make a run. We trade smith to the rebuilding senators for cap relief we give them there 4th back we take a 6th or 7th. We clear enough cap to sign DeAngelo to a good long deal keep strome for a friendlyish deal cause he has chemistry with panarin. KZB line intact. And with the extra cap space to make the team better to maybe push into the playoffs getting a good scoring winger in mike hoffman to play on the other side of panarin and play PP. He has lethal shot, great on the PP and is another weapon to make us better. We only sign him for 2 years so when zibanajad contract is up hes priority number 1 and hes gonna make at least 8.5 or more on his next deal. Have just enough cap space over 1M to make deadline acquisition. Defense is still young and learning but we got our top 4 and should be good enough to compete with the top teams. Another side note after 2021 we have Staal coming off the books whatever salary we retain in a lundqvist deal the shattenkirk buyout over 6M coming off. So LOT of cap space to resign some of our young guys to new deals like chytil lindgren shesterkin howden and buchnevich. We'll still have space to add someone that offseason too. Also trade lias for something both parties want to move on.
