Rest of this year

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I want to see Kublaik with Kane a bit more. Let's find out if he can continue with that snipe. I wouldn't mind seeing him get some Calder consideration. I also want to see Strome back at Center. I don't need him to play with Debrincat, but they're good together. Stan will 110% need to play hard ball with his contract. A 1 or 2 year prove it deal sounds about right. I also want to see Lankinen in net for a few games too. Once Ian Mitchell's season is over, let's get him signed and playing a few NHL games.

In general...there's a lot of RFAs to sign next year and not a lot of cap space. Make sure to put them in the best positions to succeed because A.) that's how development works, but B.) Stan might need to trade a piece or two away for draft picks or other prospects.

This team is probably going to go on a run here and eliminate themselves from having good draft position. That’s the most Blackhawks thing to do.

Just bench Smith; no reason to play him just buy him out

He's part of the PK. I honestly thought he was going to get dealt yesterday considering Tommy Wingels got a 3rd rounder, but it didn't happen. I mean...even future considerations would have been ok with me and he does provide physicality for a playoff run. He could be an asset for star protection for a team like COL that's sustained injuries to their stars through out the year.

***EDIT*** I still want to see Entwhistle on the bottom pair some time this year too.

Not at that price tag. Now the Hawks will likely just buy him out is my guess.

He would be an ideal addition at the deadline for a bunch of teams, but at 3.25 for this year and next, that's a tough contract to swallow for a contending team. Even Colorado with all that cap space would pass IMO

@ChiHawk @masterjuddi Couldn't COL do the same thing though if they truly had cap issues next year? Get 100% of the pieces needed for the Cup. It's only a $1M buyout.

I personally think he's been better than advertised, but not worth Joki...so he gets a bad wrap. His ceiling has dropped a bit, but I don't see the laziness BUF fans were talking about. I expect him to put in a solid off season and have a decent year next year.

They could but why? He's not THAT good on the PK to take a $1M cap hit next year for nothing.

Because it's a freaking cup run and they spend ZERO assets to get him. Their PK is (I think) 2nd worst amongst all the playoff contenders. Special teams are huge in the playoffs. Why trade for anyone at the TDL??? To give you a better shot at the cup. Do you remember the last cup finals? Sharp was calling those guys human missiles. COL doesn't have that physicality in their forwards.

***EDIT*** As a side note... CHI will probably waive him and have the $2M 1 year vs $1M over 2 years, but that's more my opinion/preference. He can also help develop other players in Rockford.

***EDIT EDIT*** They should wave him now! See if anyone at all wants him. no?

I think they're getting around to it. Lots happened. CGY's team shows an asterics for the 3rd AND you can even click on it to see the other condition with EDM. I hear ya though. @F50marco any insight?
