I agree that the WIld will not make that trade. I also expect Holland will trade Nugent-Hopkins as quickly as he can if Tippett relegates him to the bottom six. He has a lot of value and is likely to command a return that will benefit the team more than having him play maybe 10 to 12 minutes in a reduced role.

Who would he get in return that would improve the team do you think?

It would be difficult to replace RNH, he's a second line centre playing left wing because Edmonton also happens to have McDavid and Draisaitl. He has the skill and smarts to compliment either Draisaitl or McDavid, and would probably find good success playing with Athanasiou as well. He also happens to be a good penalty killer and a key contributor on the first power play unit. I don't think there's a GM out there that would agree to a deal that would make it worth moving RNH out of Edmonton right now. I'm not suggesting there aren't better players, or packages that would make sense for the Oilers, I just don't think other teams would give what it should take to acquire him.

For instance, if traded to Columbus:

RNH + Khaira = Anderson + Foudy + Jenner

To me that makes sense for the Oilers, but from the Blue Jacket perspective it may be too much to pay.

Why do you want Caggiula back? Especially when you're sending out your best PKer.

You do know that Boston offered Heinen for Khaira at the deadline, right? And Holland declined? Khaira has a lot more value than Drake does.

I'm not trading archibald or sheahan (best pkers). JJ is not very good. And where did you hear about this trade offer? Source?

Khaira is not our best PK guy. He’s maybe 4th.

You’re also completely making up the Heinen trade rumour or Holland is an idiot. I have a lot more confidence in Holland’s GM capability than I do in your insider knowledge.

Stauffer said the Oilers declined a Khaira for Heinen trade on deadline day. Couldn’t make the cap work. So somehow, Jar Jar still has value.

**********

Check out 4v5 GA/60. Among forwards with 90 or more minutes, Khaira is 2nd in the entire league with 2.64 GA per hour. Nuge is 4.42 (6th in the league) while Archibald is 4.74 (12th) and Sheahan 5.20 (17th).

Amazing. Give him 10m per season. Funny thing is he never plays against top players and if you watch an oil game realize he isnt on number 1 pk. So he plays little each game against other teams crap doesnt make him an elite pk guy. Fancy stats are often misleading
