Description
You have to think that there's no more room for Dermott with this Muzzin extension right? Should he simply be packaged for a RHD in the off-season?

Think Leafs may sooner just move Dermott to right side and make trades to upgrade bottom 6 forwards.

I figured so too. Not a big Leafs follower but I imagined that Holl and Dermott would wrap up the bottom 2 pairings on the right side. Isn't Dermott Brodie-esque in the sense that he likes playing his off-side?

I think he mainly played RD in juniors but in the A and NHL i think its been strictly left. definitely mobile enough to run 3rd pair right side

Would Holl be the 2nd pair RHD? I've heard great things about his season. You should've seen the ass-ripping I got for suggesting TVR was better.

yeah him and muzzin work really well together on the 2nd. not sure what happens next year with liljegren, if they try to acquire a top 4 RHD with kappy and dermott or just run a holl dermott lilj right side. I'm not quite sure about TVR in comparison but Holls been as steady as you could want from a D this season. probably an ill deserved ripping from other leafs fans but ive had little to no complaints about him

Holl has emerged out of nowhere this year as was benched almost all of last season by Babcock. Apparently, he stayed in Toronto the entire summer and worked on his skills with Leafs and is playing real well in shut down 2nd pairing with Muzzen. Sheldon Keefe upgraded him to second pairing shut down roll with Muzzen when he became the Leafs new coach. Has a very reasonable salary at $2,000,000 per year with good size and puck moving skills so think he is going no where.

I see, what about him anchoring Reilly? Lili could be with muzzin and then Sandin and Dermott?

considering Babcuck ain't at the helm anythings possible for pairings.id try that out or I'd even try muzzin-rielly, sandin-holl, dermott-liljegren.

Returning to the subject at hand, here's who Anaheim has under contract at RhD for 2020-2021, including all minor leaguers:

Josh Manson
Erik Gudbranson
Joel Persson
Axel Andersson

Does that look like the right side of a defense from which the Ducks would be likely to subtract one of the two major leaguers?
