He’s fine. Top-6 defenseman who can play top-4 in a pinch. He’s looked good with Murphy (who is great defensively) and now that Gus is gone he’s gonna get more time with him.

Unlike some Hawks fans on this site, I wouldn’t mind keeping him next season, assuming we can fit everything under the cap. He’s been solid, if unspectacular

Because CHI will probably be in a bit of a cap crunch with players like shaw, CDH, and Seabrook coming back and Maatta is really cheap to buy out though Im sure some teams would trade for him before we buy him out.

Buffalo is seriously making Chicago look like their ****. Fleece us in the nylander trade then somehow end up with kahun in a bonafide cap dump of a trade.

Of course! But Seabrook is ours and we must admit defeat and except that.

I mean Maatta is “important” because he’s a veteran and a defensive Dman only other one we have is Murphy. He’s also cost controlled.
