He'll play next year, for sure. I believe this is worst case scenario. Also, embracing the tank means playing guys in Belleville for one more year.

Until his partner in Thomson/Bernard-Docker are ready and/or we bring up skilled young forwards he can pass to. We cant have him play with Borowiecki or Reilly and not skilled forwards that can finish. The 20 games he played at the beginning of the season, he was pretty good but they deployed him wrong. He was getting deployed as a shutdown guy when hes more of a let him control the offense guy

The Senators should do there best to improve as much as possible next year or they will start to wallow in failure. With a good chance at a couple of top 5 picks this year, they a have good young roster players already on the team with a lot of talent on the way. They shouldn't go out of there way to try and sign any big UFAs to bad contracts to win next year but they should not tank and try and finish as high as possible in the standings. They will most likely be a bottom 10 team either way, but they need to start improving.

I know, im not saying they are guaranteed going to add those top 5 picks to there roster right away only that they will get top 5 talent. They are most likely going to be bad but they shouldn't be trying to tank and try to be a bottom 5 team again. If they end up there, then they end up there, but they shouldn't be tanking. Having a modicum of improvement will set them up better in the future than having a last place tanking culture infecting the team.
