If any NHL team had this many KHL players they'd get killed every game.

Sorokin is 24 and has a career .940 save% having already played 5 years in the KHL, Kaprizov is 22 and probably the best player not playing in the NHL at the moment. Romanov is 20 and is one of MTLs top prospects, Marchenko is 28... I just added him for fun squinting with tongue out

This is the cream of the KHL crop... NYI and MIN having been praying for the day Sorokin and Kaprizov leave for the NHL and probably never plan on moving them....ever

I like both trades. Does Sorokin sign though?

I mean a KHL All-star team could probably go toe to toe with quite a few NHL teams. Also, these are young and growing prospects for the most part so it's a bit of different story.

Regardless of who the players are it still takes most KHL players over a year to adapt to the NHL. Some adjust, some don't.

Under these circumstances I think he would. NYI have probably been trying like mad for years. And as much as I like those trades too, neither MIN or NYI do them.

For Karpizov anyways, the only time he played on north american ice sizes was during the WJ in MTL in 2017... in 7 games he had 13pts (9 goals)...

That's quite true, you just don't know if you're looking at a Roman Cervenka or a Sergei Bobrovsky. That being said if Montreal is trading away Price and Domi, chances are they're in development mode and will find out quickly. Also, they have each other which could help quite a bit. Especially since they're coming from the same team in the K if I am not mistaken. That could help development along, especially with Kovy as their mentor. I like the setup here.

I heard Minny burnt some bridges with Kaprisov... or was that NYR and Kravtsov?

Chuck Fletcher didn't handle the relationship well, which is why he hasn't come over yet. Leipold, Fenton, and now Guerin have all made it a point of making sure he knows how important the franchise views him and according to his agent, he'll be over when his KHL deal expires at the end of this season. If the Wild somehow get into the playoffs as a wild card, I could see them burning the first year of his NHL deal to bring him over when the KHL playoffs are over. We'll see I guess, but as OP said, zero chance they trade him. They hold his rights indefinitely.

The Isles have been trying to sign Sorokin the only reason why he never did sign before was because the Isles didn’t have anyone capable in charge so he didn’t feel like it would be good for his career. Now that the Isles have Lou and Barry Sorokin has said that he is coming over here next season and is signing with the Isles
