Lets get one thing straight from the get go that the Leafs will not trade Dermott, Holl or Liljegren as well as Sandin as they are all part of the Leafs elite young defence core. It can take a defenceman sometimes 3 to 5 years to fully develope so the Leafs just need to stay patient and comitted to these young defenceman and let them learn and gain more NHL experience. I really think these 4 great young defenceman on the team combined with Rielly who is already a top five defenceman in the entire NHL and Muzzen who is maybe one of the best defensive defenceman in the entire NHL will give the Leafs one of the best defensive cores in the entire NHL for years to come .

Why in God’s earth would the Leafs trade Holl for a draft pick? He’s been questionably their best defenseman this year. Other than Muzzin, no one has been as dependable.

Also, next year the Leafs are going to have to go back to 23 players don’t you think?

Leafs acquire Skjei, Graves and Mayfield. for Dermot, Liljegren, Holl, Johnsson and Kerfoot and the two firsts. In what world is does this make the Leafs better? And to expect Thornton to play 3C.

I'll take winning later and having multiple chances at winning later than take a flyer on a 1 year shot and have no draft capital to fill the cupboards for several years
