plan for offseason hertl halak and eddy

Created by: jonnymc26
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 27, 2020
Published: Feb. 28, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
its a pretty big package for hertle who only played half the year but still has upside and SJ is going to want to start the rebuild. so some solid prospects a 1st and a player they can flip at deadline should help them in the long term.

I hate that I have to say this again. No the sharks will not trade you Hertl for your table scraps. Hertl requires a league wide top ten prospect and a under 15 first round pick.

lol no way any team will ever do that. he is a 2c a good one at that but just a 2c. pageau at trade deadline with near 0 other center options available, who out produced hertel all year didnt fetch that. but magically a injured player on a terrible team is worth exceedingly more then that.
how i see the value i offered is a better 1st then NYI gave and conditionless and instead of a 2nd and 3rd with conditions gave the value of about 3x 2nd round picks.

not quite as much as hall cost witch was a 1st, a 1st round prospect (same as tage), a 2nd round prospect and a 3rd round prospect.

you basically tink hertle is worth more than an mvp

Hertl has term and isn’t a rental. Plus I don’t think a 1st in 12 - 15 range and top prospect is what a mvp cost. If I wanted hertl I’d trade Bouchard and a 1st for him

Thank you. The two big problems I have here are people underrating Hertl, and thinking SJ would move him. Hertl has been injured much of the season but is vastly better than Pageau. Also SJ needs him for the long run and has no replacement, so any deal needs to include a future 1C or else the sharks won’t even consider it

If you are going to give up that much it has to be for a center. At 26 can't see the sharks moving him . You retool around him

you can retool with him but does anyone actually believe him to be a franchise player?
he is not even top 3 player on his team in my books or even top center at that.
