Wow just wow, Doughty is 30 years old with 7 years of term at 11 million dollars. Rielly is 25 and makes 5 million. This is an absolute disaster. Also Nylander alone is worth more than Dumba.

Rielly's deal is almost up, and how much will he cost to keep? $8m? $9m? I would MUCH rather have Doughty, a MUCH better defender than Rielly. A leader who can teach the young up and coming D like Sandin, Dermott, Holl and Liljegren the RIGHT way to play D at BOTH ends of the ice. AND I do have LA retaining $2.5m of Doughty's salary, so he would be $8.5m and not $11m. As for the MIN trade... Nylander has been AWESOME the past few weeks - no doubt - but prior to February - everyone was screaming at how a Dumba acquisition by the Leafs would be Nylander +++. So... That is my logic behind the trades.

Doughty is clearly declining that is going to be an awful deal in 2 or 3 years from now. You could get a hell of a lot more than Dumba for Nylander
