How so? Yes, they are giving up the best player in the deal, but they get a legitimately good prospect back in Ho-Sang who could probably step into their lineup as soon as this year. They also get back a 1st round pick for what's looking to be another deep draft in 2017. And as the cherry on top they get Shane Prince, a speedy third liner who still has room to grow.

I know Blake Wheeler's amazing and all, but Winnipeg gets back two pieces who could both be (at best) as good as Wheeler. Plus Shane Prince. How would you change the trade, I'm curious to know.

It isn't actually. You just don't know how to evaluate players at all.

Essentially this is two 1st round picks and 3rd liner in Prince for a Wheeler. That is pretty much the value he has and what would be needed to get him if WPG was willing. If i were WPG i would rather keep Wheeler or at least make the trade with a worse team so that the pick would be better.
