Why exactly did you give up half the roster for Damon Severson and a borderline bust prospect?

Half the roster? That's a stretch, I solidified the Top 4 RHD position and the 3 C position for 3 seasons by moving 2 middle 6 wingers a 5/6 LHD and an AHL lifer. Zachas lack of success says more about NJs development team than it does about the player, he's 22 and locked up at a reasonable cap hit till he's 26. Leafs have an abundance of smallish skilled forwards are a little shy on 3 C options and the D core is mediocre at best, would prefer to hang onto the D prospects we have than trade them for immediate help. Sure maybe the trade needs some tweaking but RHD of Severson age/term and ability are not and will not be cheap
