I think he rushed back from the leg injury and has looked a step slow, hence his shaky play this year.

I don't want to get into that Dillon contract. We're already loaded with LHD talent, not need to go long term like that. MAYBE if he wanted to do a 2 year deal.

4 years may be a little too long, but he's looked good for the caps. He's tough as nails that guy

I would do 2 years for sure. Gudas and Kempny can now go away as far as I'm concerned.

The thing I think Caps fans (especially the fancy stats people) are starting to realize is how missed crease clearers like Orpik and Nisky to a lesser extent really are, especially come playoffs. The Caps don't have anyone really to really muck it up there and in the corners. I guess Orlov and Gudas sometimes but it's very important to have that guy that's willing to do that and Dillon seems willing. I am excited about the LHD prospects that will come up in 1 to 3 years but I'm not depending on them to do the job that Dillon is capable of.

Moves I my noob arse would make:

Let Gudas go in free agency
Trade Kempny
Move Jensen 3RHD
Siegs 2RHD
Re-sign Dillion to a 2-3 year deal
Bring up Fehervary
When Alex squared is ready sometime next season, bring him up and bench Jensen.

So you could have pairings like by sometime 2020-2021:
Dillon-Carlson
Orlov-Siegs
Alex-Fehervary

Flip Siegs and Fehervary if need be, depending on performance.
