I think that bringing in Mike Green was a smart move, because Klefbom and Russell are injured, but it’s sad that he is out now. Who do you think they will bring up?? Manning?

Benning is perfectly capable of handling 3rd pairing though, so I'm not sure why this is an issue for you.

Trading for a RHD to play 3rd pairing that costs 2.7M was my issue. We have plenty of cheap players capable of the same role.

Doesn’t really matter when ltir give you cap space and you get deadline cap space heading into the playoffs. Trading for green wasn’t a bad idea and persson was never gonna crack this roster. Benning will play and he will do a damn good job. Benning is extremely underrated that being said bringing in veteran presence for the locker room with mike green never hurts and what’s the odds that 5th turns into a legit nhl player like less then 2%?

Persson was good when Larsson was injured. Really underrated. He struggled his first few games adjusting to the smaller ice and speed of the NHL but he settled in nice with Klefbom. Might be another Marino where we regret giving him up for virtually nothing.
