Ottawa 2021 - With Lottery Luck

Description
My first ACGM team. I used Tankathon to determine draft order hitting the Sim Lottery button one time and going based off the results.

Ottawa had some luck as we pick 1st and 3rd.

The first overall pick is easy Alexis lafreniere dramatically speeds up Ottawas rebuild.

The third overall pick we select the Dynamic Tim Stutzle. He has a great camp but they use the same mentality as Norris and Brown and send him to the AHL to learn the pro game (He likely gets the 9 game trial and is 1st call up from injuries)

With the quantity and depth at the center position and Logan Brown start to slip we bundle him with one of our 2nd round picks to Carolina for the 19th overall to select Jack Quinn giving us a high scoring RW. Like Stutzle has a good camp likely gets 9 games and then goes to Belleville to master the pro game.

Lastly with 22nd overall Ottawa picks Kaiden Guhle adding to an already strong and young defence core.

In order to make sure Ottawa gets to the cap floor they also make a small move on draft day Sending a 4th to Arizona for Hossa's contract and a 2nd.
With the rebuild in full swing PD decides not to sign a bunch of veteran FA with Tkachuk, Paul, White among others with more NHL experience under their belt bringing in more veterans would only slow their development. Ottawas goal this year should be to finish somewhere around 18th-20th in the NHL Possibly contending for a Wild Card but still unlikely. This giving us another Top 15 pick in 21 and setting us up for what is being coined "5 Years of Unparalleled success" by our wonderful owner.

I used a less is more mentality to this team and instead of big trades or crazy moves draft and build from within. Knowing full well that the Hossa and Gaborik contracts expire at the end of the year and gives Ottawa Money to sign the likes of Tkachuk, Batherson, Hogberg etc. Seeing as this is my first ACGM team comments and opinions are welcome!

I like this except might have to trade up to 9-12 to take Quinn. Hes going high. Gunler is a good backup option too

Yeah I just went purely off the Tankathon results. Of course the orders could change but just thinking of a Draft result like this Not only did we get Quantity we got some serious Quality and I may actually believe Melnyks comments finally.

You'd trade away L. Brown to move up 20ish spots in the draft??

As previously mentioned by Csick realistically you'd probably have to trade up to 9-12 to get Quinn but i was using the ranks on tankathon and as such it would be 20ish spots but could be upwards of 30+ spots. As it stands Logan Brown has only proven to be able to play in the AHL and seems lost in the NHL. I hope he gets another chance before the end of the year to prove us wrong but he's had ample opportunity and hasn't been able to deliver and if we pick up a Stutzle or even a Rossi/Perfetti/Byfield etc. they quite possibly all end up slotting above him and Logan brown i dont see in a bottom 6 Role and we are light on Top 6 wingers. We could move him to the wing maybe but even this seems unlikely. As said this is a less is more and moving up into a deep first round could be worth the gamble and I dont see any other players valuable enough to move up with.
