This is what Canucks will look like in 2020-2021

Description
Pretty much every GM scenario I've considered points to Loui Eriksson having to be traded this offseason. In years past it was doable to keep Eriksson's contract on the books, but not this year because Canucks will be squeezing every dollar they can get to meet the 23 man starting season roster. Prospects like Lind, Gadjovich, Juolevi and Mcewen are on the roster as hopefuls but not all expected to be on the team. Canucks will likely sign low cost free agents to fill the bottom gaps. If Toffoli will take Brock Boeser cap hit at 7 years I think Benning will resign Toffoli, otherwise he will likely be a free agent.

Please do not give Toffoli 7 years. Sutter has lost his 3C job to Gaudette. Ferland also is likely to ride the cruise to LTIRsland next year.

I really don't want to pay Stecher that much either.... he isn't that good.

I'd imagine that Roussel trade is for any team, but I don't think Montreal would have any interest in him.

I gave Toffoli 7 years because that's probably the minimum term he'd sign for. 5.875M cap hit is reasonable if he can maintain near a PPG pace down the stretch. Kreider is a fair comparison but I doubt anyone would give Toffoli more than 6M.

We'll see what happens with Ferland but he's in the same situation as Andrew Shaw in Chicago. I hope they come back.

I'm not convinced Stetch is a top 4 defenseman but the going rate for a tweener top 4/top 6 defenseman is between 3-4M. They should resign him for another year because whose going to replace him at this point? He's done a good job in his role but he wants a bigger role and probly more money at least. I say sign him for a year and let him walk the following season. Woo might be ready by then.

If we have to give Tyler 7 years then we should walk. It's tough to let players go, but we also need to consider what will look bad later. Tyler has never been an elite point producer, and normally hovers around 50. Kreider has long had the one-up, and even his contract was seen as steep.

I like that cap hit, but at no more than 4 years.

Miller wasn't expected to be a PPG player either but now he's probly one of the top 10-20 forwards in the NHL right now. If Toffoli goes cold and his point total drops between now and the end of the season, then he can walk. As of now though 6 points in 4 games with 4 goals looks very very good and he could easily continue that with the talent on the team. In LA all he had was Doughty and Kopitar to produce with. He scores big goals against good teams which is hard to find. You're probly right though that he only has 3-5 years of being a 50+ point player. After that he might be the next Loui Eriksson.
