Trades
1.
BUF
  1. Bozak, Tyler
Additional Details:
Bozak is expendable and gives STL the most options going forward. Thomas has essentially replaced him and too many younger players are waiting for a spot in the roster.
Buf has needed a middle line center since they moved O'Reilly.
2.
STL
  1. Stalock, Alex
  2. 2021 4th round pick (MIN)
MIN
  1. Allen, Jake
Additional Details:
Allen is the other guy that should be looked at. He may have significantly turned his game around, but his cap hit complicates too much. MIN might get the better goalie here, however it opens more doors than it closes for STL with their cap.

contract up. I'm not hugely invested into the blues, but I can't see him going to a different team. He has had a great year and rebounded very nicely this year. I could see him coming back at a similar contract to Kreider, but a few years shorter. Say, 6.25x4

I hope you are right, but i do not see him taking that deal.
He has a better 2 way play than kreider and has better points most of the time.

neither of those trades make sense for the other teams... minny would have like 12 mil in goalies and why would Buffalo want Bozak?
Also Blues do not need another RHD.

Do agree that moving Allen and Bozak are good ideas just think other teams are more realistic. CAL, DET or EDM for Allen and basically anywhere Bozak will waive but the return wont be someone like Miller probably a pick.

I understand that Allen assessment. I figured STL would want a cheap goalie in return. Dubnyk has been darn awful this year so my take on that is that a jobshare would be better.
As for BUF, to me it makes total sense. They are desperate for centers. MarJo isn't working. Maybe the return isn't too logical, but the destination to me is.

Many people have attached Bozak and Buffalo in the past as they continue to look to improve their top 6. Not sure if there's any interest on Buffalo's behalf but I could certainly see Bozak being moved, just not sure what teams are on his list.

Allen to Minnesota doesn't make sense at all, he will have many other opportunities that will better suit his skill set and the Blues needs. If Allen is moved, it'll be for a draft pick, not another goalie in exchange. The Blues would look to add a veteran goalie - see their recent past with Johnson, Hutton, Elliott etc - looking to jump start their careers or provide minimal coverage splitting time with Husso (possibly).

I think you're correct on the players we'd have to move, but I kinda doubt Allen goes to Minnesota. I could see him going to Edmonton or maybe San Jose. Carolina might like him too but they'd have to move one of their other goalies in the process and we couldn't take the cap hit.

If we re-sign Pietrangelo, we should really do everything possible as far as moving Faulk. Nothing personal to him and not supposed to be an indictment on how he's played, and he has a NTC so that complicated things anyway, just the reality that we can't afford to pay our third pairing RHD 6.5 million for the next seven years when we've got big money contracts coming up to Thomas, Kyrou and Schwartz, and hopefully guys like Sanford, Kostin, and Blais too. At least Allen and Bozak (and Steen) fall away after next year.
