If I'm San Jose, I'd say no. Gaudreau is a non-factor if he's not putting up points, and hes a soft perimeter player. At least Meier can play physical when he wants to.

Sharks probably decline, though Gaudreau is the superior player, if traded he will almost certainly walk in free agency to a hometown team. As a Flame he has stated that he enjoys playing in Calgary and i would say there is a 60/40 chance he stays/walks. Meier on the otherhand is still a RFA at the end of his current contract which is 3 more years compared to 2.
