It'll take more than that. I don't think Middlestadt is worth that much right now...

As a sharks fan this Has me torn.
He’s young super talented top line center on team friendly feel
Saying that the return not a chance
On the other hand he’s a guy who’s coming off yet another injury and surgery and this Would be a huge step towards our rebuild......
Damn I’m really torn

I do believe the injury does lessen his value. I also believe it does help San Jose with a potential rebuild.

Mittelstadt’s Early development was hindered by forcing him to play in Buffalo, but I believe he’s on track to be a top-6 forward.

Montour adds youth and speed to the lineup.

The first rounder will be a lottery pick. I didn’t put any protection on it, but probably should’ve done a top-3 protection.

Hutton is more of a place holder and the fact he’d probably start over Martin Jones.

Sharks have to accept this.

Mittelstadt will definitely be a top 6 forward.

Montour is a young defenseman who is on pace for about 30 points if he played the whole season. The only problem is that he's a right shot defenseman.

Hutton isn't having a great season compared to his past performances but he could be a nice back-up goalie next season if we chose to sign a goalie in free agency. He could probably start if need be.

Lastly, Buffalo has a 2% chance of making the playoffs according to MoneyPuck and their pick would likely be a top 10 pick, which is great given how good this draft is expected to be.

I would honestly argue that San Jose should take this if it was just Mittelstadt and Buffalo's 2020 1st, so I think San Jose has to take this.

Papishark my friend you are in for a very long and hard rebuild. You need young developing cheap talent. Hertl is a UFA in 2 years and you can’t afford another big UFA contract on those books....

And given what Trocheck just went for, this is a massive premium for this type of player with 2 years left until UFA. I don’t know how you could say no to this.

Great for Trocheck. The sharks are not rebuilding and we are not taking anything less than a replacement future Hertl for Hertl

The sharks might not be rebuilding but they’re going to be bad for a while with a lot of big contracts, bad goaltending, and terrible prospects...Which is much worse
