If you think Sutter is just a salary dump then I can't help you. If you think Turgeon is a valuable piece then I can't help you. If you don't know anything and just spout "give up a 1st" because you hear adults say it, then I can't help you.

I should also make the point that I'm not convinced my deal is great or logical or whatever. I just know the responses I got were less logical and useless.

If you are dumping a 3 year 6 million player that costs a lot be prepared to pay up! If your end goal is to get rid of Eriksson, then don't include Sutter because Red Wings won't want him. We are in a rebuild, so give young prospects or picks.

Plus for Sutter we don't need another 31 year old that can barely play half a season. We have enough of that with our defense.

it's 2 years of Loui and 1 year of Sutter. But okay. Removing Sutter is not a deal breaker. I also don't care about the playing coming back. Turgeon was just the guy with the worst stats and age on the AHL team. Loui and Boucher for the 6th. You can also have the rights to Goldobin and Leivo. We'll do this deal before the draft so you have time with the players before July.

Again the currency between teams is cap dollars. No team with a good GM is not taking on 10 million in cap for 26 year journeyman.

You say the response are useless, or give up a 1st, because adults have said it. Well, if you look at deals where on team got rid of a player with a high, 6 million cap hit, that team has paid in draft picks, not a failed 26 year old prospect. Look at what Boston paid to get rid of Backes or Toronto paid to rid themselves of Marleau. Both players had 1 year remaining, Eriksson has multiple years remaining. I just do not see how you can not see that it will cost the Canucks something tangible to rid themselves of Loui.

At least this comment is useful. The Marleau deal isn't really something to consider because it was teams taking advantage of a desperate Toronto team. Van isn't in that spot. The Boston deal is closer but Loui wasn't having AHL talks. Still, originally this was gonna be Loui and Kole Lind for a 7th and I got talked out of it. I'm thinking I should have pitched that and not listened to other people. The reason I picked Boucher is because this year he is no longer the failed prospect, he is crushing. But he wasn't working in the NHL under Travis. I will revert this back to the Kole Lind offer as of this point but I wont start a new post. As for cap dollars though, this isn't a Detroit team that will be spending in the offseason so it's much more about willingness to help Van than it is what will hurt Det.

You keep attacking other peoples comments as useless but when are you going to provide "useful" logic to support your trade proposition?

The simple fact that Det has cap room does not mean that they should gift it to Van. As the poster two spots above pointed out the going rate for taking on 6 million is a 1st round pick. Please explain why Det should take on 12 million + almost another 5 million in Sutter for nothing in return. It will take more than Lind or Boucher or the rights to any other fringe NHLer to make the deal work.

Personally, for Sutter and Petterson I'd give you the sixth and Turgeon but I'd also want Demko and a 1st, and given the going rate, that might not be enough to make it fly in the real world.

Good luck this year, hope the canucks make the playoffs and steal a round or two.

Can I "attack" you for saying Pettersson instead of Eriksson? If you don't know who you are even talking about find a youtube comment section or something.

Are you asking permission after attacking? How kind of you.

Seems the consensus is you do not know what you are talking about. Still waiting for your logic to support your trade proposal. Come on, don't hold back. Share the reasoning behind your "well thought out" bribe to Det. Love to hear it.

Your understanding of the word consensus is depressing. Also your antagonizing approach doesn't work on me.

My question to you is simple. After seeing what teams have paid to get rid of or clear their cap of large contracts over the last year. What is in this trade that would entice the Wings to take on 12 million for two years in Eriksson?
